What We Do

Living Bridges organizes and hosts accessible workshops and training programmes at the intersection of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and Social Change. These offerings range from weekly workshops (held on Saturdays), as well as longer programmes for learners to gain an in-depth understanding of an area of study.

We carefully curate our offerings to cater to those looking for an introductory, shorter experience, as well as those who wish to embark on a longer journey through NVC and social change. To facilitate these sessions, we work with certified NVC trainers and experienced practitioners from the social sector through a global network built over years.

Why We Do It

“The plain fact is that the planet does not need more successful people. But it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of every kind. It needs people who live well in their places. It needs people of moral courage willing to join the fight to make the world habitable and humane.”

Living Bridges is an online learning platform. We bring  you a curriculum focused on Value-driven Social Change.

Our vision is to foster and develop empathic, informed and skilled development practitioners, citizens and peacebuilders from diverse social and cultural backgrounds – from across India and the world.

We bring together people from different walks of life with a focus on conscious transformation, and create a bridge between Personal Growth (empathy, healing, connection) and Sustainable Social Transformation (i.e. work focused on the sustainable development goals).

Why we do it?

We believe that the values and principles of NVC have great potential to be leveraged for social change (and vice-versa!). Through Living Bridges, we want to inspire people to ‘bridge’ the space between these two worlds by:

  • Using empathy-led practices to address social issues, to engage and empower communities through building the capacity of social change practitioners to be more mindful, empathetic, and conscious in their communication
  • Using stories and experiences from the social change space to make the outcomes of NVC more practical, and tethered to the lived realities of communities
  • Engaging people pursuing personal growth in social issues, so their inner development goals can nurture sustainable development goals
